In case you’ve missed it, WUWT has an excellent post on failure of a sea ice satellite sensor – now taken offline.

THATS A DEAD PARROT ON YOUR SHOULDER!!!
No it’s not!
Are we in a time warp?
Re: Gene Nemetz (#2), Re: VG (#6), Sorry for putting the wrong link in. Corrected.

e’s just restin’ after a prolonged sqwauk…lovely data
/sarcon I don’t see a problem. Surely Drs. S & M can write statistical routines that will torture the Catlin Expedition’s biometric and ice thickness data into producing “robust” proxies for ice extent. /sarcoff
Maybe they should remove it…

Looks like it’s still there… just out of date.
The link here goes to a Feb 2 posting. The new posting at WUWT on the same issue is here
Why is it that everything that shows no warming, cooling and ice expansion or normalization is breaking?
Ocean sensors that showed cooling were said to be broken. So they fixed the temperature.
Antartica cooling was broken and needed interpolation.
Now arctic sea ice extent tracking is broken?
Next we’ll have glacier monitoring broken, sea rise measuring broken and snow pack measuring broken.
All while confidence in AGW never waivers and Jane Lubchenco (NOAA) launches her National Climate Service to use “robust” climate models to predict wind patterns 100 years out.
etc, etc etc
Continuing the parrot theme:
“and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the first place was that it had been NAILED there.”
Re: Fred Nieuwenhuis (#9),
Well of course the sea-ice was nailed there, otherwise it would’ve muscled up to Greenland and Voom!
