    Can anyone tell me what the format is of the GISS data files (eg. SBBX.Tsurf1200) and their data lay-outs, or where I can find it.

        Bless you, Mr. Pete. As a newbie trying to replicate Steve McIntyre’s work, I clicked around every place I could think of to locate Steve’s scripts, and all roads led to climate2003.com, which seems to be all ads and no content. I had despaired until quite by accident I hit the page where you directed JP Tollenboom to climateaudit.info.data. From there it was an easy road to the mother lode: climateaudit.info.data.climate2003.
