If you glance to the bottom of the sidebar on the right hand side, you will find a brand new, shiny, and in keeping with CA’s overriding philosophy, free visitor counter with the added bonus that we can then all view where you’re browsing from. Over time you’ll see that we get visitors, trolls and stalkers from all over the globe.
Hovering the mouse over a flag will show the related country, for those of you who don’t know what the Maple Leaf flag is for.
Now Steve, about Google Adsense…

Dear Steve,
you don’t have to copy *every* single feature of my blog :-), but on the other hand, you may if you wish, and congratulations.
So far it seems that you have about 30% more visitors than I do, and I wonder how much time you need to surpass 115 countries, my current score.
Paying them 8 USD for a registered neocounter per year can actually be useful. Try it.
At the TTLB ecosystem, you’re a reptile or something like that. 🙂
All the best
Lubos
Dear John, sorry for my wrong attribution of the posting.
That’s OK Luboà…⟮ The best ideas are never *that* original. 😉
Dear John, I completely agree. The best ideas are always about a new viewpoint on and an update of some old ideas that worked. When I installed these things, of course I was not quite original either. 😉
What are stalkers? Should I be worried?
John, check the maps. I believe that New Zealanders get kind of irritated when shown a map of Australia with the label NZ !
Nice addition John A. But a bit surprised that there are only about a 1,000 of us. Of course that’s only from this planet!
The counters only been on a few days. Now we’ll be able to tell when Willis Eschenbach (Fiji) is online.
Yes, what are stalkers? Please elucidate.
If thy fingers betray thee, stalk on.

Two interesting points:
1. Yes "We know where you live" — but not where John A lives …..
2. And trust the conspiracy-minded John A to bring up the subject of stalkers ….
Again — from another planet!
Steve: John, please stop this endless ragging. John A., please don’t reply to this.
The Google Adsense program is OK but I think that the Amazon Associates program would be better. Steve might have suggestions for books on statistics or tools (R for example), some of which might not get a lot of of exposure. So he could evangelize his favorite freeware, help some deserving authors, and earn certificates to buy more books with. I can also guarantee that the Adsense program is bound to put ads on your site that will embarrass you. I’m humiliation tolerant, but Steve would probably be flustered when Adsense drops in an add for a course in using Numerology to survive global warming.
Your count and location of visitors is interesting. From the total count I assume the software is keeping track of individual addresses and their country code. Apparently a lot of us make multiple visits a day based on Steve’s earlier mention of 250,000 hits per month.
Re #13
Yes, we appear to have quite a few compulsive viewers. Probably using RSS readers.
Stalk about, stalk about, stalkin’ about you.
In the sense that dear is precious, and that paleoclimatology has gone precious on itself, that would make Steve the Dearstalker McIntyre. A Sureknock Cones, so to speak.

What do you wear when it’s damp out? Your deerstalker and mack attire.
Oh wait, it’s the Second.
